Reflective Learning
Finding all the information about the characters in Huckleberry Finn has definitely been a slight bit hard, but I'm pretty sure I'll live. Going down to the media center has definitely been really helpful because, it gives the book a different or new scenery. It has a tiny downfall to it though, every time I sit in a chair, after a while I kinda get the feeling that I am going to fall asleep, but luckily I don't. I still don't want to leave this classroom next trimester, but when all is said and done, I am pretty sure it will be for the best.

Reading about the history in the time of slavery over and over, in history classes, English, and probably other classes. Anyway, it gets worse the more times you hear and learn about how African Americans were treated. If I could go back in time and live in the south, I would secretly help them escape. I like the change-up of going down to the media center to listen to the audiobooks. I really like this book, except for the way Huck and Jim are treated. I can somewhat relate to both of them. At home, I sometimes feel like I am a slave. Reading Huckleberry Finn and getting to know some or most of the characters has helped me answer my "big question" from different points of perspective. Talking to other people, and seeing if they have answers to your question(s), helps too, because then you're not going off of your own knowledge, but instead, you're getting an answer from a different point of view. My reading and writing skills are growing every day, as well as my ability to get creative with my writing has also expanded. I do not want this experience to end. |
